Shoutouts, More US State Foods, AI and Geese | Podcast Episode 3

In this week’s episode, Luke and Naomi give a HUGE shoutout to JD and Holly from JD and the Badlands Band, who were listening to the podcast. More shoutouts were in order for Paul Moore from the Alzheimer’s Association, who has also been following along with the show.

Luke and Naomi go over their topic from last week where they picked a food to represent each of the 50 states (well… almost all the states). For example, Maryland was represented by corn. Now, this may seem a little odd but during their travels, Luke and Naomi drove through Maryland, and Naomi thought it was going a coastal drive with marshlands and sandy beaches. But the route they took left them driving through vast cornfields. According to the comments, Luke and Naomi were definitely wrong on their choice of corn.

They read more comments and suggestions from listeners about other foods that could represent certain states. A listener from Luke and Naomi’s morning show days on The Country Giant in New Mexico, “Snickers” joins the conversation with his food suggestions for Texas. Other New Mexico listeners including Todd and Doug mention their ideas. Listen to the podcast below to hear their answers and more.

Luke also brings back “This Week in Science,” so we can all learn and feel a little smarter. He updates us on Voyager I, and he also tells us about a volcanic eruption that happened to be the loudest sound on Earth since 1883.

The duo talks about AI, and Naomi gets a little freaked out about all the things AI can already do (just wait another two years, Naomi). They cover AI creating stories, being able to decipher races, and more.

The “Sunday Scaries” are a real thing, pickle talk, and Naomi gets chased by geese. Hear all the great details, in episode 3 below:
