Happy FriYay… amount of shows – The duo has hit the big number five!
Luke and Naomi jump right in with “This Week in Science.” This segment includes some health news, where doctors and scientists were able to remove a liver, have it out of a body for three days, and then transplant it into a body successfully. Also, astronomers have found a radio wave/transmission they can’t explain (which leads to an in-depth Futurama reference). And time crystals?!
The team also makes fun of an email that Elon Musk sent out to his employees about HAVING to be back in the office for their 40-hour work week. The email gets a little weird, and Naomi is feeling micromanaged and she doesn’t even work for the guy!
Luke and Naomi revisit their wedding celebrations as they get close to their anniversary. They had originally planned on holding a wedding at The Liberty, a music venue in Roswell, New Mexico. They were inviting friends and family to the area, planning the meal, and working out the details, but then COVID-19 hit. The pair decided they didn’t want to wait to get married, so they ran off to Houston, Texas, and got married in the back of a Honky-Tonk. After the quick ceremony, they drove down the coast and spent a week on South Padre Island for their honeymoon. Their eloping story was their way to segue into how expensive weddings have gotten, and the numbers are pretty astounding. Take a listen to the podcast below to hear the full details of this story.
Next, Luke and Naomi go over the answers from last week’s topic – Your microwave disaster stories. Paul wrote in and told us about a time when he was just a kid and put pizza wrapped in foil in the microwave. We also hear more stories from listeners who wrote in their responses.
The team also talks about tipping and how out of hand it’s gotten. And Naomi goes OFF! Hear her rant and rave, and catch the topic for next week in the video below:
