Grocery Shopping Hatred, the Savannah Bananas, and Brown Noise | Podcast Episode 7

Lucky Number Seven…

Luke and Naomi start the show with a little recap, and Naomi is CRANKY today. Probably because she hates grocery shopping and that’s what they did before recording the show. After about 10 minutes of being in the store, Naomi is already irritated. She says it’s because she hates spending money, and it’s even worse to have to spend money on something you need to survive, like food! She even apologizes to Luke for her bad mood! The worst part though, Naomi is already upset about grocery shopping, but prices just keep getting higher and higher and the selection hasn’t gone back to normal since Covid. Your options are five dozen eggs or six eggs, there’s no in-between.

After Naomi’s ranting and raving about the grocery store, Luke let’s us know about a couple of tech things that are no longer available like Internet Explorer (you know, the blue “e”), and the iPod.

Speaking of tech stuff, Luke and Naomi are finally on Spotify! Shout out to everyone who has been following them and keeping up with the podcast and their social media accounts – It means more than you know!

Be ready for a couple of weeks without Luke and Naomi On-Air. The duo is getting ready for a vacation. Naomi has been so cruise-obsessed lately, she hasn’t even thought the duo’s upcoming trip to New York. The two will be heading to Luke’s neck of the woods for some camping adventures. That leads Naomi into asking:

“Does anyone wanna guess how much gas is going to cost us?”

…Making it the official topic they’ll be discussing in the next coming weeks. Naomi already has her budgeted estimate, let’s see how close eveyone gets. Oh, and shout out to Three Brothers Wineries.

Luke and Naomi didn’t forget about the standard features of the podcast. Listen to the video below to hear “This Week in Science,” which covers unexpected trash on Mars (which is not as exciting and crazy as it sounds), and Naomi admitting she doesn’t understand how light years work.

Luke gets a chance to talk sports – The Savannah Banana Baseball Team. They’re like the globetrotters of baseball. The team performs “stunts” at their games like pitchers on stilts and grandma cheerleaders (affectionately named the “Savannah Banana Nanas”). Apparently their TikTok is more popular than any MLB team.

Luke also talks about the “brown noise,” and no, they don’t mean the brown note from South Park. Naomi spends more time laughing at the name than trying to take in the story, but we’re not surprised. We’ve all heard of white noise and how that can help you sleep, but it looks like there are other noise colors and they can do different things like help you concentrate.

The couple spend some time going over the topic from last week “Does a straw have one hole or two? Or none? Luke says none, Naomi says one, and listeners? Well, find out what answer won the majority in the podcast below. You’ll also hear about Pest Informer paying homeowners $2,000 to release cockroaches into people’s homes, taser-shooting drones, and more. Check out this week’s episode of Luke and Naomi On-Air:
