It’s Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast! Thank you for joining us for Episode 55!
Let’s kickoff this week’s episode with a little announcement… We have a brand new feature we would like to intoduce to you… It’s called “Sips and Snacks.” It’s a video segment, where we head to our favorite bottle shop in Wilmington – Fermental, and we meet up with the beer and wine guru, Ashley Rogers. We bring in a beloved snack, and Ashley pairs a beer and wine with that snack. Now, we’re not talking about fancy beer and wine pairings, we’re talking about your everyday go-to snacks. Items like Little Debbie snack cakes or candy bars, even cookies and fast food! Check out our first installment of Sips and Snacks, with our snack choice of Cheetos, here.
After lots of running around this weekend and lots of stops to different stores, we talk about self-checkout and tipping, and how sooner or later in our over-the-top tipping culture (for everything from cracking open a beer to handing you a paper you had printed), you’ll probably be asked to tip at the self-checkout. Which leads us into a story of a defense attorney, who says self-checkout is bad, and there are chances of it getting you into trouble. Check out the full story in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.
We also talk about the newest fitness craze for 2023 – “Cozy Cardio.” Hey, that might be something we actually can get behind. Sounds nice, anyways. We also discuss another food-tasting job that’s available. This one will pay you $110,000 a year to eat pizza and blog about it, basically. Too bad you have to live in New York City because Luke would have already quit his job for this opportunity!
We have another segment of “Did You Know,” – Luke’s random facts to get you through the week, and we go over the answers to last week’s Facebook topic, “What’s the most non-breakfast food you will have for breakfast?” We love a bunch of the answers from this topic, some of our favorites included Dan’s response of “Spaghetti,” Brando’s answer of “cake,” (which is a favorite non-breakfast food for breakfast for Naomi as well), and Snowman’s answer of “two hotdogs and a 32-oz soda.”
And we have another Under a Rock Review for you. This week, in honor of Paul Reubens and the sad news of his passing, we sit down for “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure.” Did Naomi like the movie? What did she know about it going into the watch? And what was her favorite part? Check out her review and all the other stories in this week’s podcast episode right here:
