Thanks for joining us for another episode of Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. We appreciate you listening and being a part of our show!
Let’s get the ball rolling with some exciting news. Well, it’s exciting for Naomi, we’ll see how the rest of the world feels. As you may know (depending on how long you have listened to Luke and Naomi On-Air), Naomi has somewhat of a “brown thumb.” She’s never been able to keep plants alive, not even a cactus. But, she’s going to try again. She received a “salsa garden kit,” for Christmas and has decided it’s time to plant the little seeds. This kit has a variety of seeds – Everything you need to make salsa – Green onions, two different kinds of tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, and cilantro. So, we will be keeping you posted on this gardening adventure in the coming weeks and see if Naomi’s thumb can turn a little green.
Last week, we discussed Nationwide Insurance’s wacky pet name contest. We went over a bunch of names that were finalists, like a turtle named “Mid-Size Sedan.” We update you on that story – We have the winner of the contest! In the category of exotic pet, a bunny won with the name of: Thor Odin-bun God of Bunder. Clever. Winner for wackiest cat name goes to “Tony Scarface Baloney.” And in the dog category, the winner was: Molly From Corporate. Congratulations to all the winners! And to us, for getting to enjoy all those goofy names. You can hear more of the finalist names in the podcast video at the bottom of this page.
During American Idol they announced the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees. American Idol?! Okay, but at least we’ve got the list, which included Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffet, and Peter Frampton. And speaking of music, we go over a list from LoudWire – The 75 Greatest Rock Songs of the 1990s. Obviously, we don’t go through the whole list, but we do hit the good ones, like The Presidents of the United States of America with “Lump,” and Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing In The Name Of.” We disect the order of the top 10, and get a little upset at their number one choice. Check it out in the podcast episode below!
Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” and we go over your answers from our Facebook topic from last week. The topic: You’re immortal, but you’re taken back in time 300 years. What do you do? What is your game plan? This one made you think a little bit, and we LOVE the answers. Some people wanted to build empires, many wanted to build wealth and use what they know now to be informed on what stocks and companies to invest in. Snowman even suggested writing about future events, so that when those events happen, everyone thinks he can predict the future. Very unique answer!
And now it’s time for the feature, Naomi’s Under a Rock Review. This week she watches the 1996 thriller starring Richard Gere and Edward Norton, “Primal Fear.” This is a movie in which Naomi knew nothing about, absolutely nothing! And wait to you hear her biggest complaint of the movie! But the big question – Did she like the movie? Find out what she thought and all the answers to Luke’s review questions, in Podcast Episode 76, right here:
Original Air Date: April 22, 2024
