It’s Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast, and we’re back with another episode. Thanks for joining us for Number 86!
We have a lot to get to on this week’s episode, include our “Under a Rock Review,” but this week, it’s Naomi and Luke’s “Under a Rock Review,” because we BOTH haven’t seen the movie. And this is one that we were told over and over again to watch, especially while we were living in New Mexico. I can’t believe it took us until Episode 86 to finally get to it!
Before we get to that though, we have a new Sips and Snacks video for you! It’s a little different this time, it’s an “at-home version.” Ashley Rogers still paired a beer and a wine with our snack choice, but we had to pick it up, and then film the taste test at home. Check out the video under our “Sips and Snacks” tag, or you can get the full blog post here.
Speaking of snacks, we talk about boneless chicken wings… with a bone. It was an accidental situation where a man in Ohio was eating boneless chicken wings, and one of the bites had a bone in it. He ended up eating it and having to have two surgeries from the whole ordeal. The guy ended up suing the restaurant and the chicken processors, but a judge ruled against him, basically saying boneless chicken wings can have bones… Even though the name suggests they are boneless. It was ruled that boneless chicken wings is a style of cooking, and does not actually mean you’re eating chicken bites with no bones.
We have another list to discuss – It’s the 50 best songs of the 90s. Of course, we’re not going to go through the full list, but some of the highlights include Oasis with “Wonderwall” and Beastie Boys “Sabotage.” But we have some issues with this list. There’s quite a few that made the top 10 that we had never even heard of! How does that happen?! We know our 90s music! Check out the full story, and what songs we had never heard of, in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.
Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” some random facts to get you through until our next podcast. And we go over the answers from our Facebook topic from last week, “What song would you be okay with never hearing again?” You could give us more than one answer, but we were hoping you could try to narrow it down to that top one song that just has to go (makes it a little bit harder). Naomi sticks with her answer of Taylor Dayne’s “Tell it to My Heart.” Sorry Taylor Dayne, she just heard that song wayyyyy too many times. Some of our favorite answers were Dorsey with “Baby Shark,” Leslie’s answer of “Thunderstruck by AC/DC,” and Ross’ possibly unpopular opinion of “Sweet Caroline.” Although, we do get it. Hear more of the answers in the podcast video below.
And the moment you’ve been waiting for, we kick off our Under a Rock Review. It’s Luke and Naomi’s Under a Rock Review. This time, we watch a movie we both had not seen before, the 1988 western, “Young Guns.” Our New Mexico friends have been dying for us to watch this movie, and we finally did! What did we think? Hear our duo review in this week’s podcast episode here:
