We’re back! After a couple weeks off for travel, we’re rested, refreshed, and ready to jump into Luke and Naomi On-Air: The podcast, Episode 84!
Let’s see if we remember how to do this…
Quick update on the salsa garden – OhMyGoodness, those plants are growing like weeds. They have basically tripled in size in the last couple of weeks. The leaves are huge and we’ve got flowers growing on our pepper plants. We’re going to have so many jalapeños, we’re not going to know what to do with them all!
Speaking of the last couple of weeks, you probably noticed we were MIA. We took our annual trip to New York for our Fourth of July camping adventures. But before we did that, we drove up to Michigan to spend time in Naomi’s hometown, since it’s been quite a few years. We drove a total of nearly 2,500 miles – From Wilmington, up to southeast Michigan, then across Canada to Central New York, up to the Adironacks in New York, and then back down to Wilmington, all in a span of about 12 days.
Naomi got to see the revitalization in the town where she first started her radio career, Port Huron. And it was a moving experience for her. To see a sleepy town, get new life, and to see people walking up and down the streets in the middle of the day, and checking out the local businesses was really cool. She also got to see her family and connect with some old friends. And we made our way to a brewery that opened up in the town I went to school in, called Starr Craft Brewery. Great beers, great atmosphere. The trip was short though, only two days in Michigan before we made our way over to New York.
We spent the night and a day in Luke’s old stomping grounds, where he got to see what has changed over the past couple of years. Later in the evening, we left to drive up to camp in the Adirondacks where we spent the rest of the Fourth of July week, drinking adult beverages, hanging out by the campfire, checking out new breweries, watching fireworks, and just enjoying the great outdoors. Check out some of the pictures from the adventures below:

Alright it’s July, that means football season is right around the corner. We talk about how expensive it has become to go to a football game, and more importantly, how expensive the beer has gotten at stadiums around the country. Hear the figures in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.
We also discuss a new cup of noodles with Fugu, a poisonous pufferfish. Would you risk eating the noodles? Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” and we kick off a Facebook topic for you to join in on the conversation: Satan opens up “heck,” a lighter version of hell. What kind of torture would you find here? We’re talking light discomforts like having to wallk around in wet socks all day or every time you pass a crossroad while driving, someone pulls out in front of you and drives really, really slow. Think of your answers and we’ll go over them in our next podcast episode!
It’s time for another Under a Rock Review. Very fitting for our travel adventures, and camping in the Adirondacks, Naomi sits down to watch “The Great Outdoors” for the first time. Did she like it? Would she recommend this movie to someone who hasn’t seen it before? And wait until you hear what Luke has to say about this movie. Check out this week’s Under a Rock Review, and hear the full stories to all our adventures mentioned above, right here:
