Welcome to another segment of Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. Thanks for joining us for Episode 88.
Let’s get to some quick updates here: Last week (episode 87), Naomi watched Disney’s “Peter Pan” for her Under a Rock Review, and absolutelly destoryed Tinkerbell. Well, continuing with that theme, Naomi sits down to watch “Hook” for the first time. That review is coming up at the end of the show. We also mentioned our Sips and Snacks video from a couple of weeks ago, where we did an “at home version,” which you can check out here. We’ll have another Sips and Snacks installment for you in just a couple of weeks. It’s going to be another unique one because we’re not going to tell Ashley Rogers what snack we’re doing ahead of time. We’re just going to show up at Fermental, and he’ll have five minutes to pair a beer and wine with the snack we bring in. We’re putting him on the spot! And it should be a lot of fun!
And also last week, we had mentioned some nasty weather coming our way. We lucked out once again. It rained… A LOT. But we were okay. Some areas of North Carolina had some flooding (and some areas outside of Wilmington), and there was some major flooding further south, but we were spared from the worst of it.
If you’re an 80s or 90s baby and you’re planning a vacation soon, we may have found the perfect Airbnb for you. It’s a Polly Pocket-themed vacation home, and it looks like what you would expect. It’s called the “Slumber Party Fun Compact,” and it’s based off that toy design from 1994. Although, Naomi was a fan of Polly Pocket, she goes off about trying to rent this vacation home. And gets a little angry about rental sites and all their fees. You can hear her ranting and raving, and get more details on the Polly Pocket Airbnb, in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.
We also talk about giant pop-tarts. That’s right, those breakfast treats that you threw in the toaster. Apparently, they’ve made monster ones. This isn’t a world-record breaking pop-tart, and it was available for people to buy, but unfortunately they only made 15 of them?! Each colossal pop-tart was the size of a big screen tv and would serve about 70 people. Can you imagine just getting a crust piece of this giant pop-tart? That would be devastating. Price for the monster-sized pop-tarts? Only 60-bucks!
How much do you trust AI? Or robots? Would you trust a robot controlled by AI to handle a dental procedure? Because apparently, that’s where we are at. Get the full story (and hear Naomi go off the deep end) in the podcast episode below.
Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” we talk about the best leftovers, and we kick off our Facebook topic for next episode, “What’s something you still own, and you don’t know why?”
It’s time for Naomi’s Under a Rock Review. After watching Peter Pan last week, and learning about Neverland, it seemed fitting that she sits down for “Hook,” with Robin Williams. Did she like the movie? Would she recommend it to someone who hasn’t seen it? And how does she feel about Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell? Get these answers and more in this week’s podcast episode here:
