Extreme Toll Road Fees, Hambone Awards, Slang You’ve Picked Up, and Naomi’s Under a Rock Review of “The Prestige” | Podcast Episode 90

Driving through West Virginia

Hey! Thanks for joining us for another episode of Luke and Naomi On-Air. Welcome to Episode 90!

If you have just stumbled upon Luke and Naomi On-Air, first of all, welcome! We’re a married radio morning show team that have now brought our show to the podcast/internet waves. We also feature Naomi’s Under a Rock Reviews, where Naomi reviews classic movies that everyone has already seen, but she is watching for the first time. Classics like Ghostbusters, The Sixth Sense, and more. And we’ve got another great review coming up on this show!

And we are off and running – This episode kicks off with Naomi ranting and raving about a toll road bill they had gotten. Having to pay the toll roads is bad enough, but wait until you hear this story. And all the fees that were added to this bill. Hear all the dirty details in the podcast video at the bottom of this page.

We made our way back to Fermental in Wilmington for another installment of “Sips and Snacks.” This time we didn’t tell Ashley Rogers what snack we were bringing ahead of time, instead he found out when we arrived, and had five minutes to pick out a beer and wine that pair well with our snack choice. And even with no time to prepare, Ashley had no problem making the pairings. Spoiler Alert: The surprise snack was Funyuns. Check out the video here.

A couple of weeks ago, we discussed a story where a man’s wife unfortunately passed away at a Disney restaurant, and tried to sue Disney, but was told he couldn’t. We have an update, and it looks like Disney is backpedaling. It became a PR nightmare, as you would expect, and it looks like they may try to do the right thing.

We also talk about the “Hambone” awards, which are the craziest pet insurance claims, we discuss dealing with late friends, and Luke of course has your random facts – Your reccurent dose of “Did You Know.”

And we go over the answers from last week’s topic, “What slang have you found yourself saying?” What things that the younger kids are saying, have you picked up? We had some fantastic answers. Some of our favorites included “let him cook,” “drip,” and “no cap.”

Naomi has another “Under a Rock Review,” as she sits down and watches “The Prestige” for the first time. Could this be one of her new favorites? Did she see the ending coming? Check out the review, and all this week’s stories, in the podcast episode right here:
