It’s Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. Thanks for joining us for Episode 106 of the show!

If you’re new to Luke and Naomi On-Air, welcome! We’re a married morning show team that has moved from the airwaves to the internet. We still provide a lot of the same bits from our radio show – We discuss a variety of stories, Luke has his dad jokes and random facts, and we always have a topic that we want you to be a part of! We also have Naomi’s “Under a Rock Review.” It had become apparent during our radio days that Naomi did not get any movie references and has spent the beginning of her life “living under a rock,” (at least when it comes to film). So now, she’s watching all the classics for the first time, and reviewing them. Re-live your first watch of favorite movies like, “Ghostbusters,” “Rocky,” and “The Neverending Story,” through Naomi’s eyes. We’ll have another Under a Rock Review coming up in just a bit.

A quick recap of the last week – We had our monthly beer club meeting. It’s a great time where we get together with others who enjoy the craft beer scene, and we sample different beers, chat, and just de-stress from the daily struggles in life. It’s always a good time. And Luke had an event at the radio station he works for, “Last Prize Standing.” It was another fun event, where participants took turns taking prizes off a board until one prize was left. Then, every participant was put into a drawing for the last prize on the board. It came down to $1,000 in loose quarters (unrolled), or $1,000 in gift cards to Target, Ulta, and Homegoods. We were hoping SO bad for the quarters to be last prize, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Hear some of the other prizes that were up for grabs in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.

Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” some random facts to get you through until our next episode. We also have your annual list of “banished words.” These are words from Lake Superior University, and each year they pick a handful of words that have been overused, worn out, and are just done! Words that have been banished this year include, “utilize,” “IYKYK,” and “era,” as in, “I’m in my artist era” or whatever you want to say. Thanks, Taylor Swift.

We have a crazy story for you, where a winning lottery ticket was stolen and the owner is willing to split the winnings with the theives in order to get the ticket back. It’s a REALLY crazy story, and it looks like both parties may be stuck. And we discuss your answers from last week’s Facebook topic, our hypothetical bridge from the US to Europe – Would you drive it? Sounds like everyone agrees with us (well, for the most part), and it’s a hard “no!”

And of course, we kick off another topic for you. We want to know where you brush your teeth. We know, it sounds weird, but there’s a new survey out, and some people think that the only place to brush your teeth is standing in the bathroom, in front of the sink. Apparently, not running around the house, while you gather the last things before you run out the door for work in the morning? Some say on the toilet, and now we need answers! Please leave yours on our Facebook page: Luke and Naomi On-Air.

Now, it’s time for us to wrap up the Kill Bill saga, as Naomi sits down to watch “Kill Bill Volume 2” for this week’s Under a Rock Review. How does she feel the movie wrapped up? How did she feel when she found out the bride’s name (or how she puts it “the woman with no name”)? Would she watch these movies again? Get all these answers and more in the podcast episode below:
