Welcome to Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. Thanks for joining us for lucky number one-13.

If you’re new to Luke and Naomi On-Air, hello! We’re glad you’re here! We’re a married former morning show team that have jumped from the airwaves to the internet. We still do a lot of our radio “bits,” like Luke’s dad jokes, our Facebook topic that we ask you to participate in, and some weird and interesting trending stories that we share and discuss. But we have also added a new feature, Naomi’s “Under a Rock” movie reviews. Re-live your first watch of classic films like, “Ghostbusters,” “Rocky,” and “The Godfather,” as Naomi sees these favorites for the first time ever. We’ll have another great review coming up, a lucky one that fits with episode 113 (even though that was just a happy accident. We did not plan for it to fit that well).

But before we get to that, there are a few other items we would like to take care of…

A quick recap from the last week – The NFL draft took over the last three or four days. We did have it on in the background. The big news from that was Shedeur Sanders, who was expected to go in the first round of picks, wasn’t drafted until the fifth round and ultimately ended up going to the Cleveland Browns. There was some mocking, some fake phone calls, and a lot of drama surrounding him. We caught bits and pieces of it over the weekend. But it’s also the Stanley Cup Playoffs, basketball is on… There’s a lot of sports happening (and of course, Naomi is pretty indifferent to it all).

We have an insane story for you… Imagine having your car stolen. It’s gone. You’ve hoped it would be recovered, it wasn’t, time goes by, now you need to buy a new car. So, you do some research, find a car dealership with a vehicle you’re interested in. You decide to go with the type of car you had before, because you liked what you had. You purchase this vehicle, and as you’re driving home, things feel familiar… Really familiar. You find a couple candy bar wrappers in the vehicle – Your favorite candy bar, that you would sometimes eat in the car. Then you notice your address is saved in the car’s navigation. So is your parent’s house. You just bought your stolen car! Check out the full story in the podcast video at the bottom of this page (14:28).

Last episode, we had another Facebook topic we wanted you to get involved with. We were discussing nicknames and how it seems like the younger generations don’t really give their friends, coworkers, or anyone, nicknames. It’s something we want to bring back! Everyone should have a nickname! Anyway, we asked, “What’s the best nickname someone you know goes by?” Hear the answers below (20:54)

Alright, let’s get to Naomi’s “Under a Rock” movie review! As so greatly put by Paul on our Facebook Page, “Just when I thought she had seen enough movies to drop the under a rock moniker…” Naomi finally watches the 1995 adventure/drama starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, and Ed Harris, “Apollo 13.” Lucky number 13 for episode number 113. Does she like the movie? How “Under a Rock” was Naomi – What did she know about the movie before sitting down to watch it? Would she recommend it to someone else who hasn’t seen it?
