We have another segment of “Sips and Snacks” for you – Where we make our way to Fermental to have Ashley Rogers pair a beer and wine with a chosen snack…
Tis the season! No, not quite Christmas. We’re talking about “Churkeychanga Season.” It’s the most wonderful time of the year, here in Wilmington. Starting November 1st (each year) local burrito restaurant “Flaming Amy’s” makes their sought-after Thanksgiving meal, the Churkeychanga.
What exactly is a Churkeychanga?
It’s a burrito filled with your thanksgiving dinner – turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing. Then that burrito is deep-fried, and smothered in a jalapeno gravy. Plus, you get a side of cranberry salsa to go with this delicious invention.
We brought this fantastic “snack” (back) to Fermental for this episode of Sips and Snacks. Once again, adult beverage guru Ashley Rogers, paired the perfect beer and wine for this food. Check out the video below to see the pairing and to see what Luke and Naomi thought of it!
Now, if you’re not in the Wilmington area, this Sips and Snacks is still handy for you. This pairing will work perfect for your thanksgiving dinner – It’s all the same ingredients! So you can pick up the suggestions in this video, and have them with your family dinner. And if you’re in the Wilmington area, well, you know what to do. Get to Flaming Amy’s and get a Churkeychanga before the season ends. Deep fried burritos go until November 26th (the day before Thanksgiving).
