It’s Luke and Naomi On-Air and we are back for another podcast episode. Happy #122.

If you’re new to Luke and Naomi, thanks for joining us! We’re a married morning show team that have taken our radio show from the airwaves to the internet. We still have a few bits and segmens from our old radio days, cleverly named as “the morning show.” We go over some trending topics, update you on things going on from the past week, and Luke always has your recurrent dose of “Did You know.” But we’ve also added some features since bringing the show online, including our “Sips and Snacks” videos where we pair beer and wine with delicious treats (with the expertise of Ashley Rogers over at Fermental). Each week we also have Naomi’s “Under a Rock Review.” Re-live your first watch of classic movies like “Gremlins,” “Top Gun,” and “Big,” through Naomi’s eyes as she watches and reviews these favorites. We’ll have another great review coming up.

But first…

We gotta tell you about Jeff K’s 10k! No, we’re not talking about running. If you missed our episode last week, we explained that our good friend, and founder and president of the Wilmington Craft Beer Club, Jeff K. was about to hit a big milestone. He was about to check in his 10,000th unique beer on the boozy app, “Untappd.” Think of “Untappd” as social media, but for beer lovers. You get the opportunity to “check in” and rate beers, but also connect with other beer enthusiasts. There was a whole event for Jeff K. for hitting this milestone at our (and Jeff’s) favorite bottle shop in Wilmington, Fermental. We’ll have video from the event up shortly. It was a fantastic time!

We also take a trip down memory lane with a couple of things that happened 10 years ago – Pop culture moments that we’ve all forgotten about, but we’re sure you’ll remember them as soon as we mention them. Like, do you remember when Butterball Turkey had their “Butterball hotline”? You could call with all your cooking questions. Well, they released the dumbest questions they’ve ever received. You KNOW there’s going to be some real gems in that list! How about the irony of Ellen DeGeneres being named the kindest celebrity in Hollywood. And there’s a new trend going around and we’re not sure what to think! It’s called “dark showering,” and it’s exactly what you think – showering in the dark. Apparently it’s supposed to be like a sensory deprivation thing, and is supposed to be good for you. The idea of showering in the dark sounds… well, odd. But maybe there’s something to this? Naomi is interested and would consider giving it a try. Luke is a little concerned for safety reasons (hey, no one wants to call an ambulance for falling in the bathroom. Especially if you have to explain to them that you were “attempting a trend” you found on TikTok). Get the full details in the video below.

Of course we have another “Under a Rock Review” for you. This week, Naomi sits down to watch the action-packed movie “Enemy of the State” for the first time. Will Smith, Gene Hackman, Jon Voight, even Jack Black and Seth Green appear in this 1998 film. So? How did it hold up? Did Naomi like it? What was her favorite line?
