Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good whenever-you-stumbled-onto-this-post. Welcome to Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast.

Thanks for joining us for episode #123. If this is your first episode, hello! We’re a married morning show team who switched from the radio waves to the internet. We still do some of our “radio bits,” like Luke’s “Did You Know,” and we share interesting topics and stories, but we’ve also added some features. We have our “Sips and Snacks” video series where we meet with beer guru Ashley Rogers from Fermental, and we learn what beers and wines pair with delicious treats. And we also have our “Under a Rock Reviews,” where Naomi watches classic movies for the first time and reviews them! She’s reviewed favorites like “Ghostbusters,” “Rocky,” “True Lies,” and tons more. We’ve got another fun review coming up.

But first, let’s get to some morning show “radio bits.”

As we were winding down our weekend, and getting ready to watch the movie for Naomi’s review, we had a little bit of an adventure. Long story short, we had a giant bottle of laundry detergent that had a slow leak in the back of it. We hadn’t noticed that it had been slowly dripping for over a week… Well, until now.

What a mess! Have you had any surprise mishaps? Maybe there was a hole in the trash bag and you didn’t notice until you pulled out the bag and trash went everywhere! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we talk about Thanksgiving spending and how much it all adds up. We’re not just talking about the actual meal. There’s a lot of other spending that coincides with the holiday, like spending money on adult beverages, decorations, gas or plane tickets, and all that. Of course, Naomi goes off about spending too much on decorations. You can hear more in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.

And we talk about a grocery store fight that started with the price of turkey… And escalated to unimaginable levels.

We also have to dive into AI. That’s the big topic everywhere these days, and it’s a big topic for Christmas. A toy watch group is warning parents about AI toys and some of the disturbing things they found while testing out these toys. Be careful if you’re planning on getting your child a toy with AI capabilities. Some of the toys were bringing up inappropriate subject matter, talking about matches and knives, and other unsettling things. Check out all the details in the video below.

And of course, we have another Under a Rock Review for you! This week, Naomi needed something a little more light-hearted (after the action-packed review of “Enemy of the State”). And that’s exactly what she found with this Mel Brooks classic. Check out Naomi’s first watch of “Spaceballs,” the Star Wars spoof. Does she like all the goofiness, or is it a little too much?
