Welcome back to Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. Thanks for joining us for another episode as we hit #126.
If you’re new to Luke and Naomi, hello! We’re a married morning show team that have traded in the radio airwaves for the internet. We still bring you some of our “morning show bits” like Luke’s dad jokes, random facts, and goofy or trending stories, but we also have new features including Naomi’s “Under a Rock” movie reviews. Re-live your first watch of classic movies as Naomi checks them out for the first time – Classic films like “Die Hard,” “Pretty Woman,” “Top Gun,” and more. We have another Under a Rock Review for you, this time we get festive with a holiday favorite.
But first…
Can you believe we are just a few short weeks away from our Not-So-Polar Plunge?! It feels like it’s still so far off, but in reality, it’s almost here. This year, we decided to raise funds for fantastic organization: The Caribbean Surf Connection. Please consider joining us and/or donating – Every dollar helps! We’re collecting donations via Venmo – @Naomi-Lynn-34. You can get ALL the details on the event and more information on the wonderful work The Caribbean Surf Connection does here:
Last episode, we talked about the worst Christmas songs, and got into quite the discussion after certain songs were left off the list (and certain songs were on the list – Luke is still upset that the Chipmuck Song was named the worst Christmas song). Well, we brought this topic over to the Luke and Naomi On-Air Facebook Page to hear what YOU thought about this list, and which Christmas songs you think are the absolute worst. Dominic the Donkey continued to get a lot of hate, but so did a few others. Hear the full discussion in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page (05:42).
And speaking of Christmas music, how about some festive music that’s good to work out to?? Probably not something you’ve thought of before – Getting your sweat on to “Jingle Bell Rock.” But hey, some songs are better to exericse to than others. And we’re got the Christmas list. Details below! (11:11)
As we stay in that holiday spirit, let’s talk about Home Alone, a classic Christmas movie. Well, Luke has a great collection of behind-the-scenes facts to the movie. If you’re a big fan of Macaulay Culkin or the Home Alone movies, we think you’ll enjoy these tidbits of information (14:58).
And since we’re in December, and Christmas is just a few short weeks away, it seems fitting that we review a holiday classic. Now for this review, we BOTH have been living under a rock – Neither one of us have seen the Christmas favorite “Miracle on 34th Street.” For this review we watch the 1994 remake starring Mara Wilson, Elizabeth Perkins, Richard Attenborough, and Dylan McDermott. Did we like it? Does Richard Attenborough play a good Santa Claus? Does this movie still hold up today? Find out what we thought – And if we would recommend this movie to anyone who hasn’t seen it, in the podcast video below:
Original Air Date: December 15, 2025
