It’s Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast, and we’re back from a little Christmas Break. Welcome to Episode 127!

If you’re new to Luke and Naomi, welcome! If you’re not new, welcome back! We’re a married radio morning show team that has traded in airwaves (and mornings) for the internet. We still cover trending stories, and have Luke’s dad jokes, and other goodies from our morning show days, but we’ve also added new features like Naomi’s “Under a Rock” reviews, where she reviews classic movies that everyone has already seen (but she’s watching for the first time). Re-live your first watch of favorite films like, “E.T.,” “Varsity Blues,” “True Lies,” “Ghostbusters,” and more. We’ll have another fun Under a Rock review coming up in just a bit.

But first, we’ve got some catching up to do!

We’ve been off for a few weeks! Hope you had a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a wonderful New Year!

Luke has started a new series for the new year – make sure you check out our YouTube Channel. His short series has him recapping the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he’s doing it in chronological order. There are already 10 episodes up which you can catch up on, but you’ll also want to subscribe to our channel (if you haven’t yet), so you’ll get notifications when new videos are posted.

Naomi’s sister was in town for the holidays so we spent a lot of time going out to eat, checking out the sights, and all those fun activities you do when you have family in town. Speaking of going out to eat, we did get more than our fill – Flaming Amy’s, Little Asia for Indian Food, Hieronymus for seafood, and plenty more. Of course, the big event was New Year’s Eve and Day, Naomi’s favorite holidays. For New Year’s Eve we went out to eat at Rx Chicken and Oysters in Wilmington, and had a fantastic four-course meal.

After dinner, we showed Naomi’s sister how we like to spend our New Year’s Eve, by heading down to Kure Beach and watching the fireworks while sitting in the sand. It was a great night!

For New Year’s Day, we had our fourth-annual Not So Polar Plunge. Since Naomi’s sister was still in town, she HAD to be a part of the event. And no, we weren’t going to just let her hold the camera, she had to jump in with us!

This is the first year we were raising money during our Not So Polar Plunge. If you haven’t heard the good news already, we were able to raise $425 for the Caribbean Surf Connection! Not too bad for our first independent fundraising event! We want to say “THANK YOU” to everyone who donated, shared the links, and encouraged us! So again, thank you!

We’re going live!

Starting next week, our podcast will be live on YouTube! That means you can watch in real time, and you can comment and join the conversation! We’re very excited for this, and we hope that you’ll join us next Monday (January 19, 2026) around 7:30pm.

One of the features of our podcast is Naomi’s Under a Rock review, where Naomi watches classic movies for the first time. But we also had the opportunity to watch some newer movies recently. We watched “One Battle After Another” – The Leonardo DiCaprio movie, and the bizarre “Begonia” sci-fi film, that apparently was supposed to be considered a COMEDY?!?! What?? Check out our reactions to these movies in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.

And we’re back with another “Under a Rock” review. This week, Naomi sits down to watch the 2002 sci-fi action movie starring Tom Cruise, “Minority Report.” What does Naomi think of the movie? You won’t believe what part of the film she gets so hung up on! Would she be interested in watching it again, and does she think you should watch it?
