Luke and Naomi’s Not So Polar Plunge 2026

Luke and Naomi Heading into the Ocean for their Not So Polar Plunge 2026

On January 1st, we held our fourth annual Not So Polar Plunge and celebrated the new year by jumping into the ocean.

Since New Year’s Day 2023, we have been starting our new year by jumping into the Atlantic Ocean. What started as a crazy, silly thing, has become a tradition, and for the first time, for 2026 we were raising funds for a fantastic cause.

We announced our Not So Polar Plunge and the exciting changes for 2026 back in September. We revealed that this year we would raise money for The Caribbean Surf Connection, a fantastic organization we fell in love with during our trip to the Dominican Republic back in January of 2025. You can learn more about the Caribbean Surf Connection and all the good things they do for children in need, and why we wanted to raise money for them, here:

As always, we filmed our Not So Polar Plunge. But this year, we went live on Facebook so you could watch it in real time.

January 1, 2026 approximately 12pm

Ocean temperature: 53 degrees
Air temperature: 55 degrees

Here we go!

Well, the video didn’t turn out how we wanted to, but that’s okay – The point is we jumped in and we did it for a good cause. But maybe next year we hire a cameraman.

With Naomi’s sister being in town for the holidays, we asked her to join us for this event and jump in with us. Not only did she oblige, but she stayed in the water for a bit! Also, that was her first time in the ocean!! Can you believe that?! We invited her to come back in the summer so she can enjoy swimming in the ocean when the temperatures are a little more… pleasant.

Thank you for everyone who was a part of this event – whether you watched it live on Facebook or watched it later (or watched it just now!) Thank you to everyone who donated to The Caribbean Surf Connection and helped us raise some money. Thank you to everyone who commented, liked, and shared the posts and stories leading up to the event. Every little bit of support and help is greatly appreciated.

Here’s to 2026! Happy New Year!
