Hey! It’s Luke and Naomi On-Air, and we’re back with another episode of our podcast – Welcome to episode #130.
If you’re new to the show, thanks for joining us! We’re morning radio show hosts that have moved off the dial and onto the web. We still do a lot of our “morning show bits,” and discuss trending topics and stories, but we’ve also added new features, including Naomi’s “Under a Rock Review.” Re-live your first watch of classic movies like “Ghostbusters,” “Rocky,” and “Kindergarten Cop,” as Naomi watches (and reviews) them for the first time. We have another great Under a Rock Review coming up!
But first, we have a few things to talk about…
It’s a winter wonderland here in Wilmington! We had a big snowstorm, and got about five-and-a-half-inches of snow, which may not seem like a lot, but it is definitely a lot for the south. We built a little snowman and spent about 20 minutes admiring the snow before heading back in and being done with it.

But with all this snow, Naomi had her first “work from home” experience, and she’s not sure if she could actually do it all the time. Check out the podcast video at the bottom of this page to find out why.
Today is Groundhog Day! What a weird holiday, honestly. Luke has some interesting facts about the holiday and Punxsutawney Phil. Did you know he’s married? Did you know people used to eat groundhogs? Pretty crazy stuff! Hear all these interesting facts and more, and find out how often he’s “right,” in the video below.
Now this is a weird story we’ve got to talk about – A server is going viral on TikTok after an “interesting” interaction with a customer, who wanted her to cut his food for him. We’re not talking about cutting a steak into little bite-sized pieces, and we’re not talking about cutting a steak in half. Actually, we’re not talking about a steak at all! We’re talking about a hamburger. After the hamburger was served, the customer asked the waitress to cut it in half. It doesn’t sound too odd, but the fact that he didn’t mention it beforehand, or have them cut it in the kitchen, makes it a little weird. The server told the customer that “they don’t do that,” and offered to get the man a knife so he could cut it himself, but he insisted. And he offered a bigger tip. So she did. then he tipped her an extra $3.
Why didn’t he just do it himself? And why would he want someone to touch his food like that?
Definitely odd.
Alright, it’s that time… It’s time for Naomi’s “Under a Rock” movie review. This week, she sits down to watch the 1994 action/thriller film “Surviving the Game.” Luke has suggested this movie many, MANY times, but it just hasn’t happened… until now. What did Naomi think? Who was her favorite character? Did she like it more or less than she expected? Rotten Tomatoes gives this movie a spectacular 35%, find out if Naomi’s on the same wavelength – Check out this week’s podcast episode and Naomi’s Under a Rock review, right here:
