Hey! We’re back! Thanks for joining us for another episode of Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast.
We apologize for the little hiatus, but we were out of the country! We made our way to the Dominican Republic for a little rest and relaxation, but we also needed to present our “check” to the Caribbean Surf Connection for the funds we raised during our Not-So-Polar Plunge! We were able to present a check for $500 when all was said and done. THANK YOU so much to everyone who donated, shared posts, “liked” and commented, and helped us spread the word about the Caribbean Surf Connection and all the wonderful work they are doing to help keep kids out of dangerous situations, through the power of surfing. If you missed all our talks about the Caribbean Surf Connection, check out the story below:
We’ll also have more talks with Jorge about the Caribbean Surf Connection and all the great things they’re doing, in the coming weeks. And we’ll get some pictures and more stories of our travels up on LukeandNaomi.com
Of course we are back with Luke’s random facts – Your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” and we’ll have your “Thought of the Day” (complete with song and jazz hands) at the end of the show.
But first…
Let’s talk a little bit about the trip. We had a fantastic time in the Dominican Republic. It was our first time at an all-inclusive resort, and man… We have been missing out! All the food, all the drinks, swimming in the pools or laying out on the beach (and swimming in the ocean) – Everything was right at our fingertips. As much as we enjoyed our rest and relaxation, we also packed a lot into each day!

Not only did we get to experience our first all-inclusive resort, but we also experienced another first – Our first cancelled flight. Yep. Not really what we expected, but we made the best of the situation. We were already at the airport when we received the news, and we planned on staking out a spot and spending the night there. Unfortunately, they had other plans for us. We were led to the luggage carousel to pick up our checked bags and ushered out. Now, we needed to find a place to stay and a ride to and from the airport, so we could be back tomorrow afternoon for our rescheduled flight. Luckily, we know a few good people who were able to help us out. Hear the full story in the video below.
It’s that time of the year – Daylight Saving Time. We’ll be “springing forward” and losing an hour of sleep. But that lost hour means our sun will be setting later and we’ll have that extra daylight at the end of the workday. More and more areas are ditching the clock-changing, and after we spring forward, British Columbia will not “fall back.” Would you want to follow suit? Check out the rest of the story in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.
And now it’s time for Naomi’s “Under a Rock Review.” This week, she sits down to watch “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” Will the slapstick comedy be exactly what we need, or wil it be a little too much? Would Naomi recommend this movie to someone else who hasn’t seen it? And you’ll never guess what part she can’t stop laughing about (she can’t even get it out).
