Sips and Snacks – Pairing Beer and Wine with White Cheddar Popcorn

Welcome to our fourth installment of “Sips and Snacks” – Our latest feature that takes us to our favorite Wilmington bottle shop, Fermental. There, we meet with the wine and beer expert Ashley Rogers, who perfectly pairs our snack choice with a craft beer and a wine.

In this episode we bring Wise brand white cheddar popcorn to Fermental to pair a beer and wine with this cheesy, powdery, delicious snack. Now, we specifically say “Wise brand.” Please get wise brand white cheddar popcorn if you plan on doing this pairing. There may be a few other choices you can make, but you don’t want the Smartfood brand. You want the popcorn to have that cheesy powder on it – It works better, trust us… Or at least, trust Ashley. He knows what he’s doing.

So what craft beer goes with white cheddar popcorn? And what wine makes this snack really… “pop?” Find out in our Sips and Snacks video here:

It felt like this pairing was a little risky, but nope, once again Ashley Rogers pulls it off. He also explains why the flavor pairings work, and he’s right! See for yourself – Get a big bag of Wise brand white cheddar popcorn, pick up a lemon Radler and a Prosecco (we really suggest you try both the beer and wine for this one), and dive in! Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
