We’re heading back to Fermental in the Cargo District in Wilmington, for another segment of “Sips and Snacks.” We’ll meet with Ashley Rogers, the beer and wine expert, to pair the perfect beverages with our chosen snack.
This episode is a little different. Yes, we brought a snack for Ashley to pair a beer and a wine with, but it’s not our normal treats. And no, it’s not an actual Thanksgiving dinner. We didn’t bring in a roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, and all the rest. Buuutttt…. We did bring a burrito with turkey and all the fixins in it.
Okay, let us explain…
Our “snack” this episode is the Churkeychunga from Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn in Wilmington. This massive burrito is made with roasted turkey breast, garlic mashed potatoes, jalapeño cornbread stuffing, all wrapped up in a flour tortilla, then deep-fried. It’s served with a cranberry salsa and a jalapeño gravy. It’s amazing, and it’s Thanksgiving dinner in a burrito.
Sooooooo, it’s a little more than a “snack.” But we have no doubt that Ashley Rogers can find a beer and wine to pair with all these delicious flavors.
And the best part is this beer and wine will pair with your Thanksgiving dinner. Even if you don’t have it “burrito-style.” Try it for yourself and let us know what you think! You can always leave a comment below. You can also leave a comment if there is a specific snack or treat you would like us to feature, and have Ashley pair a beer and wine with it.
Thanks for watching!
