Hey! Welcome to Episode 71 of Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. Thanks for joining us!
We took another short break. Naomi had some training classes for work, which took us out of town, then we had a wedding that we were both in. Congratulations Valerie and David!!! This was Naomi’s first experience being in a wedding (besides our own, but we eloped, so that’s a different story). She talks a little about the differences from being a guest at a wedding to being a part of the wedding party. Luke has had plenty of experience with his friends and family getting married and also from bartending weddings a few years back. Again, congratulations to the newlyweds – We are SO happy for you two, and wish nothing but the best for your future. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Luke decides to ask the movie review questions, for how Naomi felt in her first bridal party. And we have another shoutout for Jasmine, who went to Costa Rica with us, with her husband Jarren. She officiated the wedding, and did a phenomenal job. She really had some beautiful things to say about the couple. It was a wonderful wedding experience!
Alright, let’s jump into this! We talk about the Oscars which aired last night, and the big movie wins. We also talk about Kevin Hart’s tour rider which included some demands you would expect like 55-inch tvs in all his rooms (needing multiple rooms like one for himself, one for the catering, one just because… all that), a large refrigerator that has a glass door, and specific drinks like four Pepsis, four Sprite, and so on. But he also had some very specific instructions on the size of items like the tables and a stool, and he had a particular demand for local law enforcement. Hear all the dirty details of his tour rider in the podcast video at the bottom of this page.
We continue our Facebook topic from a couple of week’s ago, where we had everyone “ruin a wish.” Basically it started with one wish – “I wish I had a million dollars.” Then, the next person would “grant” that wish, but then ruin it, like “poof, you have a million dollars, but it’s all Monopoly money.” The person who ruined the wish, would then make their own wish, that the next commentor would grant, but ruin. We had so much fun with this one! Naomi even tries to ruin Brian from England’s wish on the fly – Live during the show.
We also have your random facts. Thanks to Paul Moore, we now have a better name for the segment, seeing as it isn’t always your “weekly” dose of facts. Paul wrote in and suggested calling it “recurrent” dose. So there you have it – Your recurrent dose of “Did You Know.”
And we discuss our crazy scenario from last week: You flip a coin. Tails – You get a billion dollars. Heads – You get hiccups for the rest of your life. And if you don’t flip the coin, you get both. What do you do? OhMyGoodness, we weren’t ready for the arguments this one was going to cause! There’s good reasons behind both options, but which is better?
Finally, Naomi has another “Under a Rock Review.” This week, she sits down to the Oscar-award winning, 3-plus hour-long story, of “JFK.” This was a tougher one to review, but she has some things to say about the film. Check out her review, find out if she liked the movie, and get all the details to the stories above, in this week’s podcast episode right here:
