Welcome back to another episode of Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. Let’s get Episode 82 started!

Update on the salsa garden – The plants are doing pretty good, besides the green onion that Luke nature killed. Although, we may have a problem with birds. It looks like one of our jalapeño pepper plants has some leaves that have been torn, and a couple of stem pieces that are bent. BUT, besides that, the plants are growing well, and a little taste-test from a cilantro leaf tells us that we’re doing okay.

We all know how much Naomi hates the AI stories and thinks we may be getting a little overzealous when it comes to what advancements we can do with technology, and should maybe focus more on what we should do. But Luke has found a story that she may get on board with. How about smart shopping carts? It’s being tested out in a few cities – Shopping carts that scan your items as you put them in the cart (so you can keep track of your total as you’re going), and possibly pay right through a device on the cart? We might go for this kind of technology.

We talk about Pat Sajak retiring from Wheel of Fortune – Can you imagine having the same job for 41 years?! Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” and we discuss kite-surfing after a story from Southern California where the winds picked up and a kite-surfer got deposited onto a deserted beach. He had to spell “HELP” in the sand before helicopters found him and rescued him!
