Hey! Thanks for joining us for another segment of Luke and Naomi On-Air: The Podcast. We are just a few short episodes from the big 1-0-0.
If you’re new to Luke and Naomi On-Air, welcome! We’re a married morning show team that have brought our radio show to the internet. We have a weekly topic that you get to be a part of, we discuss various stories, and we have Naomi’s Under a Rock Review. Luke has seen all the movies, and Naomi hasn’t seen any. Re-live your first watch of classic movies like “Ghostbusters” or “The Green Mile,” through Naomi’s eyes. We’ll have another Under a Rock Review, at the end of this episode.
Happy Halloween! Quick recap of our last week – We didn’t have any plans for Halloween, or really for the weekend. Luke decided last minute that he wanted to check out a band here in Wilmington, the Dubtown Cosmonauts. Of course it was a Halloween show, so that meant we had to get dressed up. We showed up to Broomtail Pub and Arcade, ready for music, drinks, and fun, dressed as Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. We had a lot of fun! The music was great. The atmosphere was awesome! It was a great way to spend our weekend. Come to find out, they were holding a costume contest, so before we left, we had our picture taken, so people could vote for us over the next couple of days on Facebook.

We’ll let you know next week if we win! We don’t know what we win, but we don’t care! We want bragging rights of having the best costume!
Other than that, it was a quiet weekend. We don’t want to talk about the football games that were on (sorry, Luke). We hope you enjoyed your Halloween weekend as well!
Goldfish crackers is looking to change their name. Not an uncommon thing to do. A lot of companies try rebranding if sales are down or if they decide to head in a different direction. This is weird though, and definitely a publicity stunt. It looks like the cheddar crackers are going to be renamed Chilean Seabass crackers. What?! Don’t worry, it’s just a limited-time… stunt. Check out the full story in the podcast episode at the bottom of this page.
We’ve got a fun list from Buzzfeed about the adult experiences we all go through, but just don’t really say. Like the idea of having to get up early in the morning so you can’t do anything the night before is the adult version of “my mom said no.” Or how about having the “we have food at home talk” with yourself? Taco Bell does sound good for dinner though, doesn’t it?! Nobody really talks about how the kitchen always has to be cleaned (even though you just cleaned it an hour ago). Hear more of this fun (but slightly depressing) list below.
We also discuss trick-or-treating and a town that has put an age limit on taking part in the festivities, Luke has your recurrent dose of “Did You Know,” and we go over your answers to our Facebook topic from last week, “If you had a t-shirt with your most used phrase on it, what would that t-shirt say?” We had some phenomenal answers to this one. Some of our favorites included Snowman’s answer of “You’ll live,” Mark with “You Do You, Boo,” and “Quiet please” from a teacher. Love them!
In honor of Halloween, we had to have a scary “Under a Rock Review.” This week, Naomi gets to meet Freddy Krueger and a young Johnny Depp with “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” What did she know about the movie before her watch? Did it scare her? Would she watch it again? Find out the answers to these questions in more, in the podcast episode here:
