Sips and Snacks – Pairing Beer and Wine with Flaming Amy’s Churkeychanga

Flaming Amy's churkeychanga 2024, cut up and being enjoyed with beer and wine at Fermental

We’re back with another segment of Sips and Snacks at Fermental in Wilmington. This time, we’ve brought Thanksgiving dinner with us!

Welcome to another episode of “Sips and Snacks,” where we meet up with Ashley Rogers, the adult beverage guru at Fermental, and he pairs a beer and a wine with our snack of choice. In honor of Thanksgiving coming up, we brought in a local favorite – Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn’s Churkeychanga. This Thanksgiving dinner in a deep-fried burrito form, is only available for a couple of weeks in November, and it’s a must-have treat!

And it really is your Thanksgiving dinenr in a burrito – It has roasted turkey breast, garlic mashed potatoes, jalapeño cornbread stuffing, and it’s all wrapped up in a flour tortilla, then deep-fried. It’s served with a cranberry salsa and a jalapeño gravy. And it is Ah-mazing! It’s also the perfect “snack” for our Sips and Snacks episode.

This is actually our second year of featuring the churkeychanga on Sips and Snacks. Check out the video from last year here. Don’t worry, we are pairing a different beer and wine with this burrito, compared to last year, so you have more options.

Let’s see what Ashley Rogers has come up with for this year’s pairing of beer and wine with the churkeychanga…

Our favorite thing about doing the churkeychanga as a featured “snack,” is the fact that the beer and wine picked out for this episode is the perfect beer and wine to serve at your thanksgiving dinner. Even if you’re not in Wilmington, and you can’t experience the churkeychanga for yourself (which, if that’s the case, you’re really missing out. Sorry.) you can still enjoy this pairing.

What do you think? We would love for you to try it for yourself and let us know your thoughts! You can always leave a note in the comments section below, or you can shoot us a message on our Facebook page: Luke and Naomi On-Air.

Thanks for watching! And we’ll be back with another Sips and Snacks episode shortly!
